TGIF

Well, it´s Friday in Reynosa... everything is a little more relaxed (even more than usual!) This week I´ve been helping out with ¨el kinder¨or in other words helping out with the young children in the mornings with their ¨class¨. It´s been fun, and I love the kids, but it has definitely reiterated the fact that I probably won´t be working with kids in my profession. I love spending time with the little ones, but keeping them all entertained and out of trouble is another story. I have the ultimate respect for teachers and daycare providers everywhere! (Mom and MA come to mind).

Wednesday night we had a devotional and every casa had prepared either a song or presentation of some sort. I get by with the comprehension, but it was definitely nice when they sang a song with a melody that I recognized. Even if the words didn´t translate exactly, at least I had the idea. Gloria a Dios.

A new team comes tomorrow from North Carolina. It´s a small group made up of two different families, still, it will be nice to comfortably speak in a group of people again. Speaking in Spanish all of the time is a great learning experience, but it definitely makes a person feel less intelligent. Some of my intern jobs that I will be starting include, taking new photos of all the residents of CHI, and creating a bilingual hymnal for the weekly devotionals. I´ve been asked about jobs for the Rejoice group, and if next week´s group stays on top of it, I believe that Rejoice´s main job will be clearing out the park area of the brush and whatever else is out there. Work gloves will be very important!

This has kind of been a disjointed entry, but it´s been that kind of week! I thank you all for your constant prayers.

Love Eliza

Happy Friday! We gave Gma. Barb your Pharr, TX address, so know she'll be writing to you soon. I'm glad you're busy with the kids...I'll bet they are adorable! Thanks for the shout out of admiration for what I do...we all just use the gifts we've been given, and God planned that there would be those of us who could survive kids on a daily basis. He made you with other gifts that I would struggle to bring forth...law school, international internships, etc.! Anyway, have fun and keep thinking about all you're experiencing...these are life lessons, no doubt!
Love you,
Mom

Liza,
It is Sunday and I know I haven't been the best at commenting but, I have been thinking about redoing my room in a European theme and I can't wait until you get home so I can give you our Gifts/ Souvineers*
I babysat the Dristes on Friday . It was Beth's Birthday so I did the girls hair and they got in white dresses and I took pictures of them outside. I printed them off and I gave them to the girls who gave them to Beth for a belated birthday present. I miss you!
Love, aj

Sunday night now...we took Dad to see "The Hulk" for his Father's Day activity. It was good as far as those kinds of movies go...there's a lot of shooting and hitting for it to become one of my top choices, but I did like his good heart! We also went to City Park to play frisbee golf, but the mosquitoes won...we left after the first hole. It was a nice day for Emy's grad party. I'm almost finished with Poisonwood Bible...it seems like the book that never ends. It is an amazing story, though, and I bet it made for really interesting discussion..there's a lot to analyze in it. Next I'm going to finish Three Cups of Tea. Then we'll have another book club book to tackle. Can you think of anything you left at home that you need? Time to think of packing up the Rejoice group!
Love you, darlin'!

I am overwhelmed by your entries! You are gaining so much that you may not realize for some time. What a respectable and responsible adult you are becoming! I am sending hugs down from Abby and I.
